H&M Sweaters (weather) and gifts! ❤

Hello, beauties!

First of all, I want to tell you that I’ve decided to post every Monday and Friday, in order to have time for school and other projects (most of them are actually for school). One of them, for example, is a little event, a Christmas Fair. I’ll write about it next week, when I hope to have some pictures, as well. This is just a little preview ❤

Secondly, it started to snow, and for this weather, I suggest you to give a look at these pretty sweaters (down below) and accessories from H&M! Personally, I find these to be the cutest clothing pieces for winter. Choose your favorite knitted jumper and imagine yourself going Christmas caroling while wearing it! And more than that, you’ll keep yourself warm and cozy. It’s just like in one of those typical american movies.

Happy Holidays! Gifts for her! ❤

Christmas is coming in less than a month and a lot of you might have already thought about giving gifts to your beloved ones. If you don’t have gifts ideas, H&M has! Here are some of them, and if you want to see more, check it on their site: http://www.hm.com

The recipe for a perfect day! ❤

Hello, beauties!

Brr, it’s so cold outside, isn’t it? And maybe you didn’t have the best day of your life..Therefore, in this post I’m going to write the recipe for a perfect, frosty day. You can pamper yourself after a bad or a tiring day. You will, for sure, feel better. Enjoy!

First of all, take a hot, relaxing bubble bath. It’s a good way to start your pampering day. For a great ambiance, light up your bath with some candles. You can buy them, for example, from Auchan. They’re pretty cheap and you can choose your favorite one. Do you want something else? Then choose Yankee Candles. If you’re from Romania, you can order them here.

Drink a cup of hot chocolate with cinnamon or a tea with a little piece of your favorite cake. You won’t gain weight just because of a sweet little pleasure. Sugar has its own role, so don’t stop eating something sweet once in a while. I adore hot chocolate with cinnamon and some pumpkin pie, oh, or some gingerbread for Christmas! It’s so yummy, yummy!

Cuddle in your cozy bed full of pillows and blankets! Oh, it’s such a nice thing to do when you’re tired of your bad day. I always do this after school, and I try not to think of what I have to do. Sleeping for an hour gives you energy to continue your work (or you just sleep for like 5-6 hours and when you wake up you don’t even know what year it is). Anyway, try to relax a little bit! There’s no need to hurry.

Read! Your favorite book or the latest magazines. Reading makes you more creative, in those magazines you might find some new fashion items you would like to have in your wardrobe, or you simply notice something you can buy for you friends and family for Christmas!

Watch your favorite movie or TV Show! Have some time only for yourself. Ignore those annoying phone calls or messages for at least one hour. Being stressed won’t get you anywhere! Let your mind wander, let yourself get rid of your problems or of any task you have to do. Your body and mind will thank you for this well-deserved break.

That’s all for now. One more article until Christmasssss posts! Wish you all a great week and don’t forget to be POSITIVE and HAPPY!

Kisses, girls! ❤

Beauty: Tips on how to grow long and healthy hair! ❤

Hello, beauties!

Since I’ve just seen the first Coca Cola Christmas advert, I wanted to start writing my first post about Christmas, because I’m already so excited about this time of the year (as always)! After thinking twice about it, I’ve decided to post my first article about Christmas only in December, as soon as I start decorating my house (I caaaan’t wait!❤) Therefore, in this post I’m going to tell you a few tips for growing long and healthy hair.

Along the years I can say that my hair was abused. It was pretty blonde, black and..pink! Yes, it was pink. I wanted to dye it red and since it was my first time doing that, I messed it up so badly (only after a few weeks I realised why people were staring at me like that…). Anyway, it was another experience. I used to cut it, because I didn’t like my hair, too bad I didn’t know how to do it! Now I can say that my hair is long and smooth, even though I have some bad hair days.

Don’t wash it everyday! I used to do this like 2 years ago, for a very long time. I was told not to wash it too often for the reason that, when you do this, you’re taking off the natural oil in your scalp which allows your hair to shine. I know that some of you might wash it everyday because it has too much excess oil.

Use conditioner! The purpose of the shampoo is to clean your hair and the purpose of a conditioner is to repair it, plus it makes your hair shine, like you’ve just dyed it.

Less heat for your hair! I’m pretty sure you already know this, but letting your hair dry naturally, without your intervention, is very good for your hair. I recommend you this only if you are aware of that fact that you might get headaches and more awful things! (You should do this only in the spring/summer time.). Another ”less heat for your hair” tip is to stop using flat irons, or at least don’t do this often, in order to have a healthy hair.

Same goes with water. I don’t say that you have to wash your hair with ice cold water, but try not to wash it with hot water, because just as irons, it damages your hair.

Over-brushing. Doing this to your hair can cause split ends and breakage, and it’s causing just too much consistent friction for hair to handle. Cheap brushes don’t help either, causing snags and tangles that are hard to get out and resulting in broken hair and split ends.

Down below I posted a picture of some foods for heavenly hair, brought by Lauren Conrad (www.laurenconrad.com). I really hope that these 5 tips will help you get a healthy hair!

10 Wardrobe essentials every woman should own! ❤

Hello, beauties!

In this post I’m going to write about 10 key pieces every woman should own, being inspired by Cinzia Felicetti’s book: Assolutamente glam! Ms. Felicetti is a fashion writer from Milan, Italy, she worked for Cosmopolitan and now she gives us tips about the way women should dress and what we should have in our wardrobes.

  • Little black dress! ”One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress.” ― Karl Lagerfeld.

Christian Dior introduced 3 terms: A line (It is narrow at the top and flares away from the hip towards the knees), H line (It’s straight) and Y line (It’s ample at the top and narrow at the hips).

Drink code: Martini

Movie code: You can see it worn by Kim Novak in Bell, Book and Candle (1958), worn by Jeanne Moreau in La mariee etait en noir (1968) and worn by Gwyneth Paltrow in Sylvia (2003).

iPod code: Slave to love – Roxy Music; A view to a kill – Duran Duran; Addicted to love – Robert Palmer; Black Dress in a ”B” Movie – Keepshake; NYC – Interpol; Girls – Death in Vegas; Open Arms – Tina Turner.

Image

  • Trench! ”You can’t go wrong with a classic trench and a pair of jeans.” ― Emma Watson

It was invented in 1914 by Thomas Burberry aka Burberry. The trench coat he came up with included straps and D-rings that were especially made for the British soldiers in World War I. It still remains as one of the essential items in fashion.

Drink code: Whisky, Vodka, Rum

Movie code: You can see it worn by Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina (1954), worn by Barbra Streisand in The Way Were (1973), worn by Madonna in Body of Evidence (1992) and worn by Jim Carrey in The Mask (1994).

iPod code: The Wild Ones – Suede; Wonderwall – Oasis; Home – Depeche Mode; Fallin’ – Alicia Keys; Time Is Running out – Muse.

Image

  • White shirt! The white blouse can be light and floating, impeccable and austere, sumptuous and all-enveloping, tight and close-fitting. It rises up to frame the face. It sculpts the body by transforming itself into a second skin. Imputed with glamour and poetry, freedom and impetuousness, the prim white shirt turns out to have a thousand identities…” ―  Gianfranco Ferré

It is and it will always be a form of politeness, especially when you have an interview for a job or a formal meeting.

Drink code: Mineral water or vodka Martini

Movie code: You can see it worn by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday (1953), worn by Julia Roberts in Mystic Pizza (1988), or worn by Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give (2003).

iPod code: Overkill – Men at Work; In Your Eyes – Peter Gabriel; Carnival – Natalie Merchant.

  • Jeans! ”Jeans represent democracy in fashion!” ― Giorgio Armani

Worn by teenagers and young adults they were often refused admission to movies, restaurants and other everyday haunts when wearing them.  But the trend grew and during the 1960’s wearing blue jeans become more acceptable and by the 1970’s they were truly established as a fashion trend. The 80’s brought with it “designer jeans” and denim took to the catwalks.

Drink code: Coke, Beer, Bloody Mary.

Movie code: worn by Marilyn Monroe in River of no Return (1954), worn by James Dean in Rebel without a cause (1955), worn by Tom Cruise in Top Gun (1986), worn by Kate Hudson in Raising Hellen (2004)

iPod code: Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones; Born in the USA – Bruce Springsteen; Smells like Teen Spirit – Nirvana; Always on the Run – Lenny Kravitz; The Scientist – Coldplay.

  • T-shirt! ”I think there’s something incredibly sexy about a woman wearing her boyfriend’s T-shirt and underwear.” ― Calvin Klein

Everything changed when T-shirts became an industry in the 1980s. The great graphics craze started when artists who had shunned the t-shirt now found a new canvas. T-shirts became a new marketing vehicle and people liked t-shirts.

Drink code: Beer, Coke.

Movie code: worn by Paul Newman in Hud (1963), worn by Andy Warhol in The Chelsea Girl (1966), worn by Kate Hudson and Mathew McConaughey in How to Leave a Guy in 10 days (2003).

iPod code: Waterfall – The Stone Roses, Complicated – Avril Lavigne, This Love – Maroon 5, Boulevard of Broken Dreams – Green Day.

  • Cashmere Sweater! ”Cashmere can be worn in all climates as it comes in different weights. ”

Cashmere roared into vogue in the 1920s with the birth of the high-fashion sweater in America. Before then, knitted sweaters were utilitarian or athletic items. This changed even more when designers including Patou, Chanel and Schiaparelli began designing cashmere sweaters in the 1930s as fashionable, luxurious winterwear.

Drink code: Bourbon Rum, Irish Cream

Movie code: worn by Lana Turner in Vendetta (1937), worn by Grace Kelly in High Society (1956), worn by Marcia Cross aka Bree Van De Kamp in Desperate Housewives (2005) and worn by Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama (2002).

iPod code: Wonderful Tonight – Eric Clapton; The Heart Of Every Girl – Elton John; Sleep with Butterflies – Tori Amos.

  • Handbag! ”Women most undoubtedly hold their purses as a prized possession. We carry our purses almost everywhere we go. Our handbags have our most beneficial equipment, our makeup, our keys and our wallet.”

The most essential point is that it can increase your personalized fashion and flatter your human body form. Now it can be time to put on an outfit with your fashion bag to make you various.

Drink code: Bellini, Caipirinha, Daiquiri

Movie code: worn by Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins (1964), worn by Monica Vitti in La ragazza con la pistola (1968), worn by Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver (1976), worn by Diane Keaton in Annie Hall (1977) and worn by Karen Lynn Gorney in Saturday Night Fever (1977).

iPod code: Steppin’ out – Kool & The Gang; Wishing on a Star – Jay-Z feat Gwen Dickey; Independent Women – Destiny’s Child.

  • Lipstick! ”Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick!” ― Gwyneth Paltrow

In today’s modern society, lipsticks are viewed as one of the most important fashion items. They are cheap, easy to use, and can create dramatic changes in the look and life of the individual who wears it.

Drink code: Cosmopolitan

Movie code: Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (1990), Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction (1994), Juliette Binoche in Chocolat (2000) and Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge (2001).

iPod code: Lipstick Killers – New York Dolls; Lipstick Vogue – Elvis Costello;

  • The rope of pearls! ”A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls!” ― Coco Chanel

The Renaissance saw the royal courts of Europe awash in pearls. Since pearls were so highly regarded, a number of European countries passed laws forbidding the wearing of pearls by other outside of the nobility.

Drink code: Champagne

Movie code: worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), Scarlett Johansson in The Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003).

iPod code: Diamonds and Pearls – Prince; Don’t know why – Norah Jones; Kissing a Fool – Michael Buble.

  • Stilettos! ”You can do anything you put your mind to, and you can do it in stilettos.” ― Kimora Lee Simmons

Shoes are a great accessory that can either add a touch of glamour to the overall look or cause a big fashion failure. One can pair them with a business or a ballet outfit, wear for a club party or a wedding ceremony, create a casual or sports look. The variety of shoes displayed on the catwalk is really amazing. Ranging from flats to ultra-high stilettos, they have become an essential part of a modern woman’s wardrobe.

Drink code: White wine, like Pouilly-Fuisee

Movie code: worn by Moire Shearer in The Red Shoes (1948), worn by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday (1953), worn by Marilyn Monroe in Men Prefer Blondes (1953), worn by Kate Winslet in Romance & Cigarettes (2005).

iPod code: I’m Every Woman – Chaka Khan; Too Hot – Coolio; Nothing Really Matters – Madonna; Spinning Around – Kylie Minogue; Milkshake – Kelis; Crazy in Love – Beyonce feat. Jay-Z

Leather is the new black! Collaboration with Codie Zofia ❤

Hello, beauties!

I want to present you my favorite blogger from Australia, Codie Zofia (http://wearingwanderlust.blogspot.com.au)  and today we’re going to write about a new trend, which seems to be loved by a lot of women and men, as well. Celebrities are rocking this trend wherever they go, the fall/winter runways were all about leather and you can notice it on the streets!

Image

“There is absolutely no denying that leather is sexy and completely bold with that being said how can one wear it? We have seen leather being reinvented time and time again from Versace’s take on the modern pencil skirt at their Fall/Winter 2012 show to more recently Alexander Wang’s interpretation of leather for a bralette designed for the T by Alexander Wang line that has been seen on celebrities such as Rihanna. But it doesn’t stop there of course the fashion elite that prance around the streets like it is their very own runway have been embracing the trend – Christine Centenera one of my style icons and fellow Australian appeared wearing leather pants underneath a gorgeous sheer lace dress or Barbara Martelo after Valentino in a Alaia leather skirt looking Parisian chic. Here is my take on how to wear key leather pieces. ” – Codie http://wearingwanderlust.blogspot.com.au

I asked her some questions about her blog, fashion and her future plans.

1. First of all, I’d like to know what or who inspired you to write a blog?
I first began with a tumblr and even though it was fulfilling my “blogging” needs I wanted somewhere that I could write and take photos of certain things that I found inspiration in and also a place to tell my story in a way. Bloggers such as Jess from Tuula Vintage and Nicole from Gary Pepper Vintage inspired me.
2. When did you start falling in love with fashion?
I would have been around 6 or so and we had Fashion TV and I literally would sit there for hours on end watching the latest collections waltz down the runway completely awe inspired by what laid before me from the models and designers themselves. I from that moment knew that I was head over heels in love with fashion and I haven’t looked back.
3. Where do you get your outfit inspiration from?
A lot of the time I just play around with items in my wardrobe to create certain outfits but I get most of my inspiration from magazines, street style and my style icons Lauren Conrad, Christine Centenera and Olivia Palermo.
4. If you had the chance to meet and work with a model or a designer, who would be? Why?
I would absolutely love to work with Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton from the Australian label Sass & Bide.  Sass & Bide is by far one of my favourite labels and the story of how they started is so inspiration for people wanting to get into fashion beginning selling their designs at Portobello Markets in London to now having 18 boutiques in Australia and New Zealand and also opening their first flagship store in New York this year – It really is remarkable. Not only that but they do amazing charity work in Africa to empower women through the traditional craftsmanship of the land that Sass & Bide then sells. I would simply love to work with such talented, passionate and inspirational women to see how they design their collections.
5. As a fashion blogger, what is you favorite trend?
I am loving the crop top trend at the moment, prints and teaming them with other prints and also white making a statement as well.
6. Could you tell me one key piece that goes well for every season?
To me you can’t go past a simple black or white t-shirt.
7. What are 5 items you never leave home without?
My iPhone, a lipgloss, my Mimco handbag, a magazine or book and a smile on my face!
8. What are your future plans? Are they related to fashion, blogging or even decor?
Next year I am doing a Bachelor of Communications at Bond University where I am looking into getting into Public Relations and Journalism. My dream would be to work as a publicist for a magazine, fashion label or even a firm that deals with publicity for fashion brands or even fashion week. I would also love to do freelance journalism for magazines whether that would be fashion or travel which is another huge passion of mine. Blogging is still definitely going to be a big part of my future I hope!
9. Do you have an inspiration quote? Or one that describes you or your passions?
I live by the saying “Believe that you can” I got it tattooed on my ribs last year and it helps me through those little moments where I am finding it hard to stay positive.
10. Can you give an advice for young fashion bloggers?
Be yourself! Blog about things that inspire you or that you love and stay true to who you are a person.
